Today me and my friend Jade agreed to watched a movie but I have really planed to see a movie today alone as I cant find anyone that can accompany me due to work related schedule and it's a good thing that my friend decided to go with me. We watched the movie "Source Code" a dramatic-thriller with sci-fi elements film which I been wanting to see, It was one of my list of movies that I thought it was interesting to watched. I even posted it in one my previous blog and true enough the movie I would say is all worth your money and definitely one of the must see movie in 2011, I would like to say that it was highly commended and I'll do recommend other to watched it. The movie is about Captain Colter Stevens played by Jake Gyllenhaal who is decorated soldier who wake up and find himself on a commuter train heading into Chicago and has no recollection of where or even who he is and the lasting that he remember is that he was flying in a helicopter in a mission in Afghanistan but there he is, in the body of a man called Sean Fentress inside a train.where he meets a woman called Christina played by Michelle Monaghan. going through a morning commute and before he can understand what is happening a bomb exploded and destroys the train and killed every passenger in the train including Colter. Steven wake up again inside in an unknown chamber, strapped to a seat and wearing a military flight suit and has no idea what's happening, except he was greeted by through a computer screen by Colleen Goodwin played by Vera Farmiga who is also a military
woman that tells him he’s part of the operation called “Beleaguered Castle,” and he was in government experiment called the Source Code, a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. Colter learned in the process that earlier that day, a bomb exploded and destroyed a train in Chicago where he was riding at and his mission is to locate the bomb and discover who created it before another bomb, this time a nuclear device, detonates somewhere in Chicago, causing the death of millions of people. Steven Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until uncover the identity of the bomber, while also figuring out what the alternative universe of “Beleaguered Castle” is. Adding to the puzzle, Colter uses the second chance opportunities to make peace with his father, and to find romance with a fellow passenger on the train.
The movie offered breathtaking mouse chase of uncovering who is the bomber as everyone in the train is a possible suspect, the movie also gives you the element of sci-fi thrilling drama with a futuristic proportion and an important and touching lesson for the viewers to understand. As for me, the movie tells us that every hour of every day, every minute of every hour and every second of every minute really counts and that we should not waste it over to never ending arguments and fights, as we neglected the idea of being alive and that we should give thanks instead that after all that we been through we are still here alive and kicking and that alone is sufficient reason to go on with our lives and live every day as it is our last and we should never stop giving thanks to God for another chance that he gave us to live our life once more. The movie will leave you a question that "what will you do if you have only have a second to live" ? it was hard to answer though our mind will give you a lot possible answers but do we really need just a second to live before we could realize how life is to short to waste it? we all guilty of that but the movie can be a wake up call for all us to appreciate life and the time that we have.
The movie is directed by Duncan Jones also known as Zowie Bowie or Joey Bowie who is an English film director, best know for directing the science fiction films Moon back 2009 and star by Jake Gyllenhaal as Captain Colter Stevens, Michelle Monaghan as Christina, Vera Farmiga as Colleen Goodwin, Michael Arden as Derek Frost, and Jeffrey Wright as Dr. Rutledge. The movie is distributed by Summit Entertainment
