Temptation

Thank God its Sunday and I thank God for another morning Sunday to spend with, with Jesus. I woke up early to attend Mass but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the 6:00 AM Mass and so I just attended the next Mass which will start at 7:30 AM at our parochial church at San Ezekiel Moreno Parish at Longos Malabon where I am residing.

Today's Gospel is showing how Jesus was tempted by the devil and how he successfully I guess with no effort at all to fight it,  but for us human it could be a very difficult, how can you say "NO" when the whole world riches was offered to you? Well to answered compose of five letter word, that is "FAITH" if we have this then we can definitely say "NO" to all the temptation that will come our way and I guess that's what were are all lacking. We may say that we have "FAITH" but will that be enough to stand the test of a devil? will that be enough to say "NO" when everything was offered to you? It was hard but with Jesus on our side everything is possible even the impossible.Everyday as we go along the road of our life we are all in constant battle against evil, against temptation, against the worldly things, and more often we are caught off guard and we gave up, even me I always gave up to this temptation. It was defitely a long, tiring, and gruesome battle against temptation but when you win this as our parichial priest Rev. Fr. Boyet Pedroso says that God will reward us. Just like what happen with Jesus after he was tempted by the demon and win it over, all the Angels serve him.

Let me Share with you one of the entry for the day March 13, 2011 for the "Living Water"

As a college students, I was selected to be part of a one-week leadership program that joined the cadets of the Philippines Military Academy in Baguio City. It was a thrilling to see the cadets in action: rappelling from a helicopter for war games, doing their parade marches, and witnessing them graduate after years of grueling training. We all knew the reality, though, that after that colorful week, many of them would be sent immediately for battle in Mindanao.

The quoted verse today (Sunday) begins with the word, "Then". It is pointing to the fact that before Jesus temptation in the desert, He just came from the River Jordan where the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove. After that grand affirmation and anointing from heaven, It was now time for action. Then, led by this same Spirit, he goes to the wilderness to battle the devil.

If you are led by the Spirit and filled with Spirit, you will eventually end up in a spiritual battle: against your flesh, the world or the devil. So next time temptation comes around, know that it's time for action. The Holy Spirit is given us precisely for this purpose: to empower us to be victorious here on earth.
