Temptation

Thank God its Sunday and I thank God for another morning Sunday to spend with, with Jesus. I woke up early to attend Mass but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the 6:00 AM Mass and so I just attended the next Mass which will start at 7:30 AM at our parochial church at San Ezekiel Moreno Parish at Longos Malabon where I am residing.

Today's Gospel is showing how Jesus was tempted by the devil and how he successfully I guess with no effort at all to fight it,  but for us human it could be a very difficult, how can you say "NO" when the whole world riches was offered to you? Well to answered compose of five letter word, that is "FAITH" if we have this then we can definitely say "NO" to all the temptation that will come our way and I guess that's what were are all lacking. We may say that we have "FAITH" but will that be enough to stand the test of a devil? will that be enough to say "NO" when everything was offered to you? It was hard but with Jesus on our side everything is possible even the impossible.Everyday as we go along the road of our life we are all in constant battle against evil, against temptation, against the worldly things, and more often we are caught off guard and we gave up, even me I always gave up to this temptation. It was defitely a long, tiring, and gruesome battle against temptation but when you win this as our parichial priest Rev. Fr. Boyet Pedroso says that God will reward us. Just like what happen with Jesus after he was tempted by the demon and win it over, all the Angels serve him.

Let me Share with you one of the entry for the day March 13, 2011 for the "Living Water"

As a college students, I was selected to be part of a one-week leadership program that joined the cadets of the Philippines Military Academy in Baguio City. It was a thrilling to see the cadets in action: rappelling from a helicopter for war games, doing their parade marches, and witnessing them graduate after years of grueling training. We all knew the reality, though, that after that colorful week, many of them would be sent immediately for battle in Mindanao.

The quoted verse today (Sunday) begins with the word, "Then". It is pointing to the fact that before Jesus temptation in the desert, He just came from the River Jordan where the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove. After that grand affirmation and anointing from heaven, It was now time for action. Then, led by this same Spirit, he goes to the wilderness to battle the devil.

If you are led by the Spirit and filled with Spirit, you will eventually end up in a spiritual battle: against your flesh, the world or the devil. So next time temptation comes around, know that it's time for action. The Holy Spirit is given us precisely for this purpose: to empower us to be victorious here on earth.

Devastation

Christchurch in New Zealand
On February 22, 2011 just a few weeks ago, Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island near the country's second-largest city, Christchurch was struck by 6.3 magnitude earthquake. It is reported that Hundreds of structures in Christchurch have now been severely damaged or collapsed completely and at the moment, at least 65 deaths have been confirmed, hundreds have been injured, and many are still missing. And on March 11, 2011 Friday Japan which we commonly reffered as "The land of the rising sun" and one of most powerful country in the world was struck by a devastating natural disaster that almost destroyed the country,  Not long time ago when they were struck by an earth quake. It was on February 26, 2010 or over a year ago that Ryūkyū Islands in Japan was struck by 7.0 magnitude earthquake and on Friday March 11, 2011 Japan is yet again devastatingly hit by massive earthquake acco
-mpany by a destructive tsunami. The Northeastern part of Japan was rocked by this huge earthquake with a strong magnitude of 8.9 and  more or less 125 aftershocks since Friday's of massive quake,  It was said that this quake is one of the strongest to hit Japan since officials began keeping records in the late 1800s and It is also ranked as the fifth-largest earthquake in the world since 1900  and was nearly 8,000 times stronger than one that devastated Christchurch, New Zealand, last month. After a giant temblor that shake Japan it also triggered a powerful tsunami
that killed hundreds of people and destroyed millions worth of property, infrastructure, and agriculture not to mention the life of every people in Japan. Upon watching the events on T.V you will realize that it was mother's nature wrath against human, of how we took for granted and abuse our environment and seeing all this reminds us that we are responsible in taking care of our environment otherwise it will gonna go back back to us ten times bigger and worst than what we did. The thought of it was really a scary. It was like watching the movies such us "The Day After Tomorrow", "2012", or "Deep Impact" and you would know the meaning of the phrase  "no way out". if you see that 33 foot muddy water that destroying everything that came in their way? and that seems like a monster eating and sucking everything that came its way. It was terrible  and you would feel the hopelessness that struck those people that was in their  and if you try to picture out your self in that hopeless situation? I cannot  think of anything that I can do,  I would feel that there  no sense of running when  that muddy water is coming to your way at the rate
of speed which you could no longer estimate.
Essentially this larger than life disaster that struck Japan is somehow a wake up call for everyone especially Filipino people that each and every one of us are responsible in taking care of our one and only Earth because when this place that we called home is gone and destroyed the major impact will be on us people.  As for all the people in Japan, they, like Filipino people, No words to describe their abilities to survive. The fact that the loss due to this earthquake for Japan is certainly the biggest ever but they have their best architects and engineers whose efforts have made Japan, one of the best economies of the world is in full force to hep their country to start. We have seen many countries in past that has been reduced to rubble even due to an earthquake of magnitude between 7 to 7.5. and survive it how much more Japan is? Japan will surely bounce back from the losses with time, as it has always done in the past natural disasters though it may take some time, as the destruction has been on a large scale but they will make it through.
Japanese are know to their qualities of hard work and never say die spirit, for which they have been famous for, since ages.
As Japan fights with the biggest natural disaster in its history, let us pray for the victims and families who have lost their lives. May the almighty grant each one of us the wisdom and strength to stand the test of such trying circumstances.

Ashes to Ashes

Today is the start of Ash Wednesday.  In Roman Catholic church, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent that occur for 46 days (40 days not including Sundays) before the Easter. Ash Wednesday  is a movable feast that falls on a different date  each year as it was dependent on the date of the Easter.  During Mass the ashes that is put on the forehead are made from the blessed palms used in the Palm Sunday celebration of the previous year..  This ashes are christened with Holy Water and are scented by exposure to incense. it was said that  Ashes are symbol of penance made sacramental by the blessings of the Church and help us develop of humility and sacrifice. it also a reminder that God is gracious and merciful to those who call on Him with repentant hearts. His Divine mercy is of utmost importance during the season of Lent, and the Church calls on us to seek that mercy during the entire Lenten season with reflection, prayer and penance.

Furthermore, We should remember that we receive the ashes on our forehead to remind us all that life passes away on earth, that all of us here are just temporary settlers in this world and everything is not permanent especially our life and it is worth noting this one passage in the bible that says "Remember, Man is dust, and unto dust you shall return"

More than anything we celebrate this feast to reminds us that we to should always humble our self before God as we always sinned against God and like dirt in the ground we are before God but because of his unconditional love for us he send his only begotten Son to save us from sins and made us clean. Let us remember that this feast will serve us our starting point in making some reflection for this coming 40 days celebration of Lenten season  and let us make this season worthwhile prayerful experience to be with God.

What a life..!

When I try to think kung ano ang dapat kung i-blog for today I cant think of anything, I guess, I was so preoccupied sa lahat nang mga bagay that was been going on, in my personal life. I remember that I was quite jolly when I woke up yesterday though when I'm on the road on the way to work I feel this heavy feelings that resurfacing and what I did is just release a very relieving but very deep sigh, para bang may pinang gagalingan.
Before my day even end I receive a text from home, from my mother telling me that again for the 3rd month in row my sister's peptic ulcer is manifesting again and she was complaining again that pain at her back and in her chest. I remember I was hungry then as I never had my lunch yet but then after the news was break to me para bang lahat nang asukal sa katawan eh nag labasan at binusog ako.
Thinking now, just to make my self smile a bit eh magandang diet pala ang mga shocking news but I guess everyone wont want that, masarap parin gumising sa umaga na parang lahat ay masaya, lahat ay perfect, that everything is in right place and that there was nothing you would asked for. Pero what I thought right now, after ko makapag muni-muni, makapag isip-isip that the thought like "God never promise us a perfect life but a worthwhile one" is seems like reverberating in my ear as if telling me na what I am and my family going through is just the natural process of life, sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cried, sometime you winsome and sometime you lose some. but the most important thing is this life is that we still still wake up in the morning and face a new life for another day.
Naiisip ko nga when I am crying and wining over to this troublesome and tiring experiences that same problem is making me more realize and thankful to God na despite all the odds I can still say that I am not alone in this, That someone, somewhere may have the same problem that I am going through, right at this this very moment or someone that may have more than what in my plate. Going back whenever me and my mother brought my sister to a public hospital because that is only what we can afford to you would see in all the eyes of those different people inside all kinds of emotions, fear, sadness, pain, joy, and you would feel amaze of how those doctors are perfectly train for the job. they are like robot who knows what to say and do, para silang mga robot na naka program na ang lahat nang dapat sabihin at gawin, no emotions, I guess you cant blame them because for the longest time that they worked on different people over and over again everyday in their  working hours, you get your self to it.
        I guess lahat tayo have so much on our plate but we that it should not be the reason to stop us from going. life may not be the want that we want or plan, life may not be so perfectly at all but what matter most is we still breath, still walk, still can talk and still living to experience God's greatest miracle "LIFE" I hope and pray that very same reason I may always try my best to live my life to the fullest and appreciate this God's way of showing us and telling us that never stop because the life that he gave us is his sign of his love, mercy and blessings. There is this nice passage I read yesterday night that even make me cry and realize na baka naman. let me share leave this thoughts for you, it goes something like this;
"We are always at the forge or at the anvil; By trials God is shaping us for a Greater things"

My Nature's way of Relaxation

Nature's Way Aromatherapy Salon in Robinson Galleria
It's was been what? more than a year since the last time I had my whole body massage and I been feeling this pass few weeks that I badly need one. I was been so stressed out for everything that happened at the start of the year 201 and the last time had my massage was back in January 24, 2010 at High Life Health Spa located in Banawe Quezon City with friends Babylyn and Rich (My college friends) and I been dying to go back since then but I never had a chance as I become busy at work and my friend Rich went back to London and Babylyn become busy moving from one place to another as part of her work as supervisor of something. But yesterday February 28, 2011 I have decided to once and for all have my massage and since I will be rendering my rest day OT in Ortigas I decided to drop by and have my massage at nearest place. I went to Robinson Galleria and first went to Excelsior Spa. I had a fond memory with this spa center because in this center I had my very first experienced of whole body massage which is still located in Robinson Galleria together with my college friends Rich and Babylyn back 2004 or 2005 which I'm not pretty sure of what year is that but just about those years and from this spa I have experienced to indulge my self in a relaxation that
everyone deserve experience. After that time I never had the chance to go back as I move to Makati and had my work their but now! I finally came back and would like to try and experience their service again but unfortunately I wasn't able to have my massage as they fixing some thing which I no longer bother to check in their wash room and so I decided to move out and go to Nature's Way Aromatherapy Salon which is adjacent to Excelsior spa and like other days spa services they offer variety of services such as body scrub, body massage, foot spa, reflexology among others but what I tried is their combination of shiatsu and Swedish  whole body massage. I paid for P400.00 for the service for the 75 minutes of whole body massage.
You can pay it at the counter on or before the massage start.  The girl in front desk who by the was was so helpful as she assisted me all through out. The good thing about this salon is that you have the option to choose your masseur whether you like a woman or man for a masseur and I choose a man of course for no other reason of course (hehehehehehhe) this is just a pure relaxation and the establishment itself is pretty much decent but then again other establishment like this that I know look decent too but then there things happened inside which nobody knows outside but going back this one is pretty decent and clean. As I have change my cloths to boxers and bathrobe I feel that I somehow like their service, They have a semi room separated only by curtain which I liked because some spa center have more than 5 bed in line and with no partition and not even a curtain so you can have a little privacy I like the fact that they have soft music playing on the background which pretty much add to the soothing and relaxing ambiance of the place. I also like the single closeted bathroom and I never fan of a common bathroom where everyone can take a shower altogether I guess I so valued my privacy and that is one of the plus point of this spa center. The guys who have given me a massage was really good in all those 75 minute of PLEASURE by means feeling so relaxed that the masseur  was so good in rubbing his skilled hand all over my body and getting rid of all the cold I have in my skin. He also focus too, so much at my back which all the nodules or the cold are centered. It was really a total relief I felt after that massage and I feel I can have a marathon run for 4K. On the other hand one thing I don't like is that the masseur did not render any stretching massage after that hard press and rubbing session and I feel that that is the one that they have missed out but all in all I am quite satisfied and seriously looking forward to go back but I still considering other spa center in the future.
